Indigenous Literacy Day is Wednesday 3rd September 2025.
This year's theme is "Strength In Our Stories: For Now & Future Generations".
Please bring books of any type to santitise, swap and celebrate at our
September breakfast event!
We implement our 'Great Book Swap' annual breakfast event in conjunction with our 'Any day is RUOK day' and 'Go Lime for Lymphoma' initiatives.
Each year WERD Network hosts our September breakfast event from 7.30am to 9am.
This year, Sue is donating ALL her hair for a medical wig through Sustainable Salons!
Attendance at the breakfast includes a donation to Lymphoma Australia (or request your donation to be made to your preference of the ILF or RUOK).
In order to raise awareness about Lymphoma you may elect to use a wash-out colour, or you may prefer just to wear green clothing and/or hair accessories! Add a splash of yellow too, to support RUOK day!
$50 per person.
Please book ahead of time for catering purposes.
Contact Sue on 0425 723 729 (text or call) or send an email to Sue@WERDNetwork.com.au
Stay on afterwards to work on your writing projects during our pomodoro cycles. Anyone is welcome!

March event - Clean Up Australia Day
Saturday 1st March 2026
In Australia, some of the most concerning statistics about the generation of waste products relate to commercial or industrial waste (see Planet Ark website for more details).
Therefore, WERD Network chooses to support Clean Up Australia Day by engaging in an arts project that uses commercial and industrial waste to create statement pieces that you can enjoy creating and reusing at home. This year we will be working safely with glass and metal that often contaminate recycling bins.
July 'Create Away your Winter Blues' fair
Volunteer at our annual creativity fair for socially, emotionally, culturally, linguistically or intellectually marginalised people through Echuca Neighbourhood House.
This is designed to coincide with Echuca-Moama Winter Blues Festival, which is held over the last weekend in July each year. Accommodation is available on request.
Please note:
All activities undertaken for community engagement are not-for-profit. WERD Network and its employees, associates and/or guests do not profit financially from organisation, promotion or attendance associated with these events.
